Exploitation
Coralline is harvested by the company BioMolenez. This photophilic alga is found on shallow rocky areas where it can form dense belts.
The harvest is done by hand at low tide. Once harvested, the seaweed is macerated and filtered to obtain an extract containing a maximum of bioactive compounds. It is a calcified alga, which gives the thallus a mineral appearance.
Mainly found in cold, temperate coastal waters of the northern hemisphere, such as the coasts of Western Europe, North America, East Asia and Australia. It is also found in the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific.
Temperature tolerance: 5 – 25
(note that algae can have temperature ranges that are not fixed and can vary with environmental conditions and climate change)
Cosmetic properties
Regenerating
Its richness in minerals allows to nourish, stimulate and favour the good renewal of skin cells.
Draining
The composition of the algae stimulates the skin's microcirculation and limits the appearance of dark circles.
Anti-aging
Calcium, in combination with antioxidants, amino acids and other minerals, stimulates collagen production and protects against UV rays to limit photoaging.
Moisturizing
Calcium ensures good cohesion between the hydrolipidic film and the horny layer to promote the penetration and retention of water in the epidermis by the hydrocolloids (polysaccharides).
